Advantages
HALOX® 680 is a smart corrosion inhibitor which is released on demand. Compared with many other organic corrosion inhibitors in the market, 680 is very cost competitive. It is a zero VOC fine milled powder which acts as a synergist with other anticorrosive pigments such as Zinc Phosphate, Z-PLEX 111, SZP-391, and HALOX 430. HALOX® 680 is released from the organic matrix resulting in improved coating adhesion. Additionally, 680 can be post-added to most solvent-based paints.
Benefits
HALOX® 680 reduces cathodic delamination (undercutting at the scribe). When combined with other corrosion inhibitors, it is an effective synergist. By co-blending it can help reduce high Zinc Phosphate loadings in anticorrosive primers. HALOX® 680 is zero VOC and non-flammable. It can be formulated into solvent-borne, high solids, and powder coatings. In water-borne coatings, 680 can be formulated upon proper pH adjustment of the grind due to its acidic nature.
Recommendations
Solvent-borne primers and DTM alkyds, epoxies and urethanes, high solids and 100% solids epoxies, powder coatings and coil coatings. Semi-gloss paints, water-borne epoxies and acrylics. For water-borne paints, please refer to our formulating guidelines.
