ICL\ Advanced Additives will present at the conference at the 2017 European Coatings CONFERENCE

ICL\ Advanced Additives is proud to announce the following event at the 2017 European Coatings CONFERENCE, a technical conference that coincides with European Coatings SHOW.

"The impact of organic corrosion inhibitors on the wetting properties of coatings"
Presented by Anthony Tousssaint, PhD
Tuesday, April 4, 2017
Session 22, Protective Coatings II

The use of organic corrosion inhibitors in coatings has grown significantly over the past two decades. As opposed to inorganic corrosion inhibitors, these increase corrosion resistance primarily through improving adhesion and increasing the barrier properties of the film. By lowering the surface tension of the coating, organic corrosion inhibitors improve the wettability of the metal substrate and hence the adhesion. Through surface tension and contact angle measurements, their ability to lower the surface tension of the final coating and improve the wettability over several substrates was analyzed. The ability of these organic corrosion inhibitors to improve the barrier properties of the coating was analyzed by surface free energy measurements using advancing contact angles of pure liquids on two coatings using a contact angle goniometer. These results were correlated with actual adhesion measurements and corrosion resistance using ASTM B-177 and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

After this informative presentation, international representation from ICL\ Advanced Additives will be available to discuss your corrosion, defoaming, dispersant and flame retardant needs. Find us in the ICL\ Advanced Additives stand in Hall 7, Stand 345, and in our distribution partner's stand, C.H. Erbsloh, located in HALL 7A, Stand 326.
