HALOX® makes its presence known at the Eastern Coatings Show in Atlantic City

The chemical industry is facing strict pressure from REACH to decrease human and environmental exposure to chemicals. In response to this pressure, the coatings industry is being directed toward water based and 100% solid coatings. Included in this approach to achieving more environmentally friendly formulations are the reduction of heavy metal based anti-corrosive pigments. On April 30th, during the Eastern Coatings Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, HALOX®'s project chemist, Jessica Olmos, gave a paper highlighting the chemistry of a new generation of corrosion inhibitors based not only on passivation, but ion scavenging mechanisms.

The Eastern Coatings Show is hosted by the Philadelphia Society for Coatings Technology, the New England Society for Coatings Technology and the Metropolitan New York Coatings Association. The show offers educational and technical presentations to chemists, sales and marketing professionals in the coatings industry; and fosters a profound understanding of the theory, science, manufacturing and marketing of coatings which highlight the improvement of coatings performance and functionality beyond traditional expectations.

The show was held on April 29-May 2, 2013. HALOX® also showcased its extensive product line during the tradeshow exhibit session April 29-May 1.
