Health & safety factors are always addressed when developing and evaluating new protective coatings. The use of lead, hexavalent chromium compounds and other toxic pigments have been and continue to be phased out. Environmental regulations drive HALOX® to increase its efforts to develop and evaluate new, nontoxic products to replace coatings containing heavy metal inhibitors such as lead, chromates and zinc. To reduce exposure we recommend completely eliminating hazardous materials and substituting them with less toxic pigments.
