Organic Corrosion Inhibitors
The coatings industry is being challenged by an increasing number of regulatory initiatives designed to protect the environment and workers. Most obvious among these are Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) restrictions, Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP) restrictions, and increasing pressure on heavy metals. Traditionally, heavy metal-based anti-corrosive pigments have been used in coatings, but are either being phased out or might not be well-suited for products such as water-based coatings. HALOX® offers a range of Organic Corrosion Inhibitors that are specifically designed to address future environmental and worker safety needs for coatings over various metal substrates. In addition to their excellent performance, HALOX® Organic Corrosion Inhibitors can improve wetting and adhesion over traditional corrosion inhibitors. They can also be formulated to provide coatings with high gloss as well as corrosion-resistant clear coats.
